Sixty years ago I took the 'L' train to the northside to visit Nob whom I had not seen since grade school in LA. Around noon time Ikue came by and said Jackie Robinson is in town for the first time with the Brooklyn Dodgers to play baseball with the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, lets go to the game its a historical occassion. When we got to Wrigley Field the game was starting and all the seats were sold out however there was still some standing room only tickets. Ikue or Ken paid my way in. It was my first Major league ballgame and my first trip to Wrigley Field. It was packed like a can of sardines. Everyone was dressed in their Sunday best with suits, ties, hat and some smoking cirgars. I didn't know you had to dress up to go to a ball game but then it was Jackie's
day. We wound up standing in the grand stand aisle near the first base side. I could only see a part of right field and part of home plate. In front a suit. Everytime Jackie came up to bat, the noise level of the stadium rose a notch and the people seated began to stand
so now I could see nothing but the backs of suits. I strained to see the field between moving shoulders.
At one of Jackies at bat the noise level kept increasing higher and higher as he moved around the bases. It was the loudest noise I ever heard It would not stop. Did Jackie steal Home? It was truly a memorable and historic moment. Thanks Ikue and Ken

My deepest sympathy to the family of Ikue Kuzuhara. I was priviledged to know Ikue only a brief while but in that time Ikue touched my heart. She was a gentle, loving spirit whose presence I shall miss forever.
