Rev. Robert G. Mair (Bob), pastor emeritus of St. Catherine Labouré in Glenview, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 86. Bob was born in Chicago to the late George and Bernice Mair. He attended St. Justin Martyr School, Quigley Preparatory Seminary, and St. Mary of the Lake Seminary (Mundelein). He served as associate pastor at St. Nicholas in Evanston (1965-1971), St. Joseph in Wilmette (1971-1977), and St. Peter in Skokie (1977-1985). He was associate pastor (1985-1987) and pastor (1987-2000) of St. Mary of the Lake in Chicago and associate pastor (2000-2002) and pastor (2002-2009) of St. Catherine Labouré in Glenview. He also served on the Priest Placement Board and the Priest Retirement and Mutual Aid Association. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed golf, travel, and especially, the company of dear friends.

Bob was third of the 11 children of George and Bernice: Jim (Mary Ann), the late Nancy (late Richard) Connolly, the late Dennis, Kathy (the late Bob) Reece, Judy (Ray) Waldschmidt, Barb (the late Brian), the late William, the late George, Mary (Jim) Gibson, and Janet (Rhonda). "Uncle Fr. Bob" is also survived by a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be at St. Catherine Labouré at 3535 Thornwood Ave. in Glenview, IL, with visitation on Thursday, April 9 from 3 - 7pm and Mass on April 10 at 11am. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of Fr.
