Sister Mary Brendan Bogdan, C.S.S.F. Died July 24, 2024 in Mother of Good Counsel Convent, Chicago, IL. Beloved member of Felician Sisters Community for 60 years. Beloved daughter of the late Walter and the late Virginia. Beloved sister of the late Christine (the late Steve) Jakupi. Many devoted friends. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Mother of Good Counsel Convent, 3800 West Peterson Avenue, Chicago, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation. Commendation will follow at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery, Niles, IL. My favorite teacher in7 th grade at Sts and Paul in McKinley park. Back in 1970 , the blue collar area sent few, especially women, to college. She pointedly told my mother to “ save money and send her to college” at one of the parent teacher conferences. She said that
I “ had an interest in working with speech and hearing handicapped”. Fast forward 20 years , I’m working as a senior speech pathologist at a clinic. My boss asked me to drive to a local parochial school to secure a signature on a renewal contract for elementary school speech therapy services. .. from the principal.. named Sister Brendan. God has his ways Rest in peace , Sister. Pray for us !
