Joyce Gallapo Obituary

We just returned from Mexico this weekend and were both saddened and

shocked to hear of Joyce's passing.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the Gallapo family ,Pat and Lorane.

Though we first met Joyce when our daughter, Jeanne, married Bill Hartman, it was not until the occasion of Janet's visitation that I had a chance to really get acquainted with Joyce. We had a wonderful visit and I learned what a gracious woman she was. When one was with "The Walsh Sisters", it was most enjoyable. Now two are together again.

I remember Joyce well,as she came up to visit her dear sister, Janet often. A gentle lady. Know that my prayers and thoughts are with you.

I had the privilege of working with Joyce for 11 years in the Family Practice Center at Christ Hospital. She was a great nurse who cared very much for everyone and was a devoted wife and mother. Her sense of humor kept everyone in stitches day after day. She was also a great storyteller. She touched so many lives. I have many wonderful memories of times with her that I will always cherish. God bless her family.

Jack & Joyce were the perfect couple in so many ways. Bernie worked with Jack numerous times & they have known each other for many years. Jack & Joyce looked so elegant at the Local dinner dance. We will all miss Joyce very much.

Joyce has left a mark on the medical community in Oak Lawn, Illinois. During her years of training family medicine residents, Joyce remained an advocate for patients and families. Her kind compassion touched each of us during our training and has prepared us to continue ensuring quality and patient safety throughout our years of service. All the past graduates from the Rush-Christ Family Practice Residency join the family during your time of loss, knowing her passion is ever present.
