Joan Festenstein Obituary
Joan Festenstein (Stern/Nee Kollman), age 87, Wife of the late Edward Festenstein passed away on November 2nd 2020. Loving Mother to Jack, Gene (Raina), Adam (Carla) and her Grandson, Julian. Loving Stepmother to Paul (Laurie), Marty (Sue), David (Suzy) and Stepgrandchildren Ross, Alyse, Abby, Alex, Jake, Carly, Noah and Cole. Dearest Brother to Bob Kollman (Sheila). Please direct charity donations in her honor to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and to honor her long time love of dogs to Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) in Skokie. A gathering to celebrate Joan's life will be done in the future.

I chatted with Joan at the Weber Fitness center about books and I would run into her at the library and at the Jewel. She was a lovely person and I looked forward to our accidental meetings. We discovered we had Dr. Dorf in common and that was the last time I saw her. When I came out of the exam room, there was Joan! That last accidental meeting was on August 12. I enjoyed talking to her and will miss her. May her memory be a blessing.

My deepest sympathy and prayers for Joan's family and friends. We volunteered together at C.A.R.E. for many years. While taking a friend for chemo several years back, I looked up and saw Joan. We caught up and had a wonderful visit. I will remember her love of dogs and her genuine kindness. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I volunteered with Joan at C.A.R.E. for many years. I am very sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful lady, so warm. She is remembered very fondly among the C.A.R.E. Volunteers.

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Joan. I lived in the same condo building . As a lover of dogs , Joan would always be so friendly to my dog , and I know used to bring her joy ! I will truly miss seeing Joan . May her memory be a blessing . Gayle R.
