Zsuzsanna Radics Obituary

Radics, Zsuzsanna Of Oak Forest, IL, recently died at home, surrounded and cared for by her abiding husband, Géza; daughters, Éva (Bryan), Ilona (Tom); and grandchildren, Liam, Molly and Ilona. Her 84 years spanned two continents, touching countless hearts. Born in Hungary, she treasured love, beauty, family and forgiveness, but was buffeted by world war, a bloody revolution, a daring escape to America, and tragic losses of her first husband, Ferencz Márton, and their daughter, Zsuzsanna (Terry). Her beautiful voice, skillful hands, unshakable love of everything Magyar, and myriad sparkly love notes to all she knew will be greatly missed. Funeral Service: Saturday, November 14, 11:30 a.m., Landmark Chapel, 6727 W. 174th St., Tinley Park, IL, 60477. Attendees: Please arrive with a favorite story, poem or song to share. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Stephen King of Hungary Church, 2015 W. Augusta Blvd., Chicago, IL 60622.

A poem I had written about my mother and read it at the end of her eulogy...

Drága Édesanya! Precious Mother!

Drága édesanya! Beautiful, precious mother,
every day was your day,
filling it with love and joy,
your sweet smile upon rising,
shining more brightly than the morning sun.

Drága édesanya! Talented, precious mother,
each song you sang beautifully,
resonating within our beings,
your voice a calming sound,
reassuring us of a life filled with happiness.

Drága édesanya! Tender, precious mother,
everyone was loved and cared for
meeting each person's needs and desires
your big heart open 24-hours
giving tirelessly, effortlessly without complaint.

Drága édesanya! Wise, precious mother,
each of your children, grandchildren you nurtured,
passing onto them sage advice,
your wisdom beyond human understanding,
opening our minds to the truth of reality.

Drága édesanya! Kind, precious mother,
everybody was in your eyes good,
seeing through to their loving souls,
your outlook allowing you to forgive their mistakes,
being the living example in memory even after death.

Drága édesanya! Irreplaceable, precious mother,
every moment you had told us,
love everybody and be happy all the time,
your words are forever etched into our hearts,
reminding us how life should be lived in this world.

Kedves Mama. ♥

Gyönyör, Beautiful Mama!
