My parents, Michael and Diane Gushiken of Berkeley, CA. were very close to your parents. They met your parents through my Uncle Jack and Aunty Helen (Wakumoto). I, too, had the pleasure of knowing your Mom. Though I have not seen her (and your Dad) for a long time, your Mom definitely has a very special place in my heart. She was a lovely person; happy-spirited, kind, caring, generous and boy, do I remember her smile! I and my family send you, your Dad and family our sincerest and deepest condolences. Losing a mother is such a deep loss. My prayers are with you. I am so happy though that the last time you saw her she was laughing and in good spirits. That is how you have to remember her. I know it is what she would want.
