Dear Lena and Family, I am still in shock from hearing about Buddy"s passing. We send you our condolences and love. He was a great friend for my 30 years in the Postal Service and also most of my entire life growing up. Even though I am and have been for sometime been far away in distance, my mind and heart has always been there.My regrets to all. Mel @ Maxine Snead

I am so sorry about the loss of your father. I know you will miss him but just try to think of all the good memories and know that God is always with you. You are in my prayers.

Although I know that words offer small comfort in your time of sorrow, I do wish to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your beloved father.

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven, dear ones
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed:
I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last. Did
You wonder how I so calmly trod the valley of shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illumined every dark and fearful glade.
And he came himself to meet me in that way so hard to tread.
And with Jesus' arm to lean on, could have no doubt or dread.
Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still:
Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's will.
There is work still waiting for you. So you must not idly stand:
Do it now, while life remaineth - You shall rest in Jesus' land
when that work is all completed. He will gently call you home:
Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come! I am home.

Pop, you'll be missed a lot! Every time I go to the beach I can't help but remember those vacations I was blessed to spend with the Johnson's, my second family. Thank you for your friendship and guidance throughout my life!

Among wonderful friends and family
I am blessed with a life of peace
And a place to worship you, dear Lord

When I am weak and weary
And my life feels incomplete

The happy chirping of playful birds

My heart and spirit rejuvenated
There is contentment beyond belief
His soothing presence comforts me

Ever thankful for His sacrifice
Because of Him, my redemption assured

Vowing to Him that I will endure

As I leave, His love envelopes me
I marvel at His awesome powers
Knowing I can always find Him here
In my peaceful garden of flowers

When our hearts are burdened down with care
And our lives constantly run on overload
Our souls are so weary and heavy-laden
That we fear we can't travel life's road



The devil throws obstacles in our way
To fill our thoughts with doubt and fear
Feeding on weakness and anxiety
Causing us problems we think we can't bear



When our minds and bodies become sinsick
And burdens of life seem to overwhelm
We need to lift our hands toward Heaven
Where Jesus is always at the helm



All He asks is that we love and trust Him
Accepting the blessings He has bestowed
Once our souls are cleansed, we will realize
That it's just another bend in the road

Blessings From Above

When I'm lonely and discouraged
And don't know where to turn
I raise my eyes toward Jesus
For His loving care I yearn



He knows my every weakness
And forgives me when I err
He fills my heart with wonder
And listens to my prayer



My Lord knows my every need
Gives me abiding love
My faithfulness and courage
All come from Heaven above



He sustains me when I falter
And takes away my fear
He walks with me along life's way
And always lingers near



When I gave my heart to Jesus
I felt joy beyond control
I thank Him for that blessed day
When He saved my sinful soul

Watching a beautiful sunset
When my heart is heavy with care
Brings me closer to my Lord
And I know that He is near

Viewing God's majestic handiwork
Brings happiness to my soul
And a feeling of contentment
To know He's in control

The precious beauty of His love
And the wonders that He gives
Makes my spirit feel renewed
For within my heart, He lives

I am very sorry for your loss. Buddy was a good man. I know Zach loved his grandfather very much and he will truely miss him.

God Saw You

God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me".
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I am very sorry to hear of Buddy passing away. He was a very good friend of mine for many years. We went to school togeather and playeed golf togeather and had some great time. My sympathy goes out to the entire family and he will surley be missed.

I, disappointedly, only met him a few times, but knew, by instincts, he was a great man, inside and outside of his family. He made me feel like family, instantly and I appreciate that! I only wish I could have known him longer. A true gentleman! Rest in Peace, knowing I will take great care of your granddaughter, Belinda! My sympathy and condolences go out to the entire family!

Dear Aunt Lena and girls, I am sorry to hear about Uncle Buddy. I can still remember coming over your house when we were little. He allways was in a good mood. All my love to everyone. Love, Cathy Swimeler Mclean
