Wilma Kurdziel Obituary

Wilma R. Kurdziel, of the Town of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 2, 2008 at the Sister’s of Charity Hospital in Buffalo. Mrs. Kurdziel was born in Lackawanna, January 25, 1928, a daughter of the late Arthur D. and Luella (Udeck) Thom. She married Henry R. Kurdziel in 1971 at the First Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Fisher Price Toys, for 19 years, and enjoyed solving puzzles, especially crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband, Henry R.; three children, Floyd A. (Wendy) Blount of Alabama, Diane L. (William) Farrell of Medina and Charles H. (Colleen) Blount of Bergen; seven grandchildren, Jack Doran, Tammie Washak, Nora Seaman, Scott Blount, Kenny Blount Charlene Hoke and Megan Blount; a step-son, Joseph Kurdziel of Buffalo; dear friends, Joseph and Carol Szalay of Shelby; her dog, Matt; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Eileen Gambel; and a step son, George Kurdziel. There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church by the Reverend Joseph Fifagrowicz. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
