Great Uncle Bill, to me, is in my deep memory when all the Fogarty/Watson family picnics were held. My first, second, and third cousins we so much fun and we all would see the pillars of our family. Bill, Frank, and Mary had such an impact on me in my "big, fat, Irish family". I loved them as they loved me, without reservation. My great uncles and my grandmother were fabulous people who loved us all...."Uncle Bill" will surely hold a place in my heart.

My mother had a special relationship with Bill and your mom. Bill always called my mom Peg because our grandfather sang Peg of my Heart to her. They had a devotion to one another that lasted until Dec 20 2003.
May we all work toward that level of love. God bless your family in time of loss. Faith, love and humility the cornerstone of the family.
Love you all,
Mary Beth Fogarty Annes

We are friends of Anne & Mike and have met most of the Watson / Connor family through the years. Bill was always friendly and easygoing, and our whole family enjoyed visiting with "Grandpa Watson". Bill led a long, full life and while we know he will be missed, his loving memory and wit will never be forgotten. Ron & Carolyn Vallort

Dear Members of the Watson Family,
Bill's passing marks the closing of one of the "arliest memories of my childhood as I was sent to "Watson's" almost daily with a note to buy the meat for our evening meal. This was more than 60 years ago, and I had to endure Frank's teasing while barely being able to reach over the counter to hand the "note" to Bill. Usually, "a very generous pound and a half of hamburger" could feed our family of 4,5,or 6 and finally 7 kids plus mom and dad. I can even remember Grandpa Harry sitting in his cashier's cage. Years later, after I was married, my meat was delivered to my apartment by one of the boys. Truly a neighborhood Institution.
My deepest sympathy to all the Family.
Sincerely, Denise Robin Nelligan

Dearest Watson Famiy,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I visited your Dad a short while ago to let him know about Danny. We had such a wonderful visit. We talked about Marge, Rose, Lloyd and how love is never ending. We laughed and cried. He's the best "Uncle" Bill.
He is so proud of each of you and he told me so.
The fourth for Bridge has arrived, so, deal the cards, pour the midget Miller, get the snacks, and let the laughter begin!
God Bless you all.
Lovingly,
Lynn (Mabbott) McGovern

My condolences to your family. I have many happy memories of Bill and Frank from Watson's meat market. When I would go there with my mother's meat order they would joke with me and always gave me a piece of bazooka gum. What a fun, great guy.
My prayers are with your family.

Rita, Anne, Mary, Joannie, Bill, Mark, Greg, Paul, and all your families,
I will pray for your dad and, as Paul so beautifully put it in an e-mail he sent, "all the other parents of our generation."
I have an old friend who grew up in Bridgeport and, years ago, when we first met and talked about where we grew up and people I knew, I mentioned that I was good friends with a guy named Paul Watson and that his dad and my dad were in the meat business; perhaps he was familiar with Mr. Watson’s store? He went on for about a half hour about how great Watson’s was, how terrific the meat was, how his parents would only buy their meat from Watson’s, and what a great guy Mr. Watson was. Lots and lots of people admired and respected your dad, but you knew that.
Your wonderful mom and your terrific dad, who were always so much in love, are back together again, maybe in a big house in the middle of the block with a big addition on top and a statue of the Blessed Mother in the backyard, or maybe in a small, warm, and comfortable apartment like the place they had in Lemont. I suspect your mom and dad are having their first meal together in years, probably a gigantic standing rib from Watson’s, and your dad is having a few High Lifes. For desert, a few pieces of your mom’s famous apple sauce cake that I, for one, can’t seem to get out of my mind, and a few cookies from the “Thou Shalt Not Steal” friar cookie jar that was so prominent on the counter in your kitchen on Artesian so many years ago. And you know what they’re talking about? What a great bunch of kids they raised, how they did good by the Lord by those people they left as their legacy.
Your Dad, your mom, your home bring back so many wonderful memories to so many people. It was a home filled with love and conviviality, fun and hospitality. Your parents were great people; they produced great kids.
Our prayers will continue for your dad, your mom, and for all of you.
