William Tomczak Obituary

Tomczak Sr., William Paul Age 83, of Calumet City, formerly of Chicago, passed away September 24, 2014. Beloved father of Teri (William) Havansek, Pamela (James) O'Hara, Patricia (Rich) Banske, and William (Renee) Tomczak Jr.; cherished grandfather of Lindsey and Sarah Havansek, Courtney, Trevor, Brayden, and Breanna Banske, Matthew, Reilly, Erin, and Colin O'Hara, and William and Maggie Tomczak; loving great-grandfather of Savannah; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; dearest son of the late Stanley and the late Helen (nee Denarski); dear brother of the late Evelyn, late Leonard, late Stanley, late Carl (late Clare), and the late James (Patricia). William was a veteran of the U.S. Army Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Post #493, and the Knights of Columbus General Pulaski Council #3323. He was a proud alum of Western Michigan University and he just celebrated his 54th reunion with the members of his Delta Upsilon Fraternity last October. William loved teaching and retired after 35 dedicated years to the Chicago Public Schools where he taught Social Studies at Bowen, Harlan, and Washington High Schools.
