My profound apology, Jackie, for failing to learn of Bill's demise. We are in Sanibel with the family for the Christmas holidays. Bill was my intern on Ward 22. I have repeated many times my high regard for his integrity as an intern, professional career in Orthopedic Surgery, commitment to the Church--as a Deacon and his many contributions to his family and society. Bill left us all a wonderful legacy for all of those parameters.
Jackie, Pat and I extend our both admiration for Bill's life and sympathy to you an your family.

Dr. Tansey (or Deacon Bill) inspired me immensely when I first taught CCD or Religious Ed with both Jackie and him when I first arrived at Ascension. I taught several of his children all of whom carried a great spirit of wisdom and pleasantness derived from their great parents. As a Deacon he served Ascension and the Joliet Diocese with distinction as a true man of God and charity for all. May he now enjoy his well earned reward in eternity.

Bill Tansey was my brother-in-law and a wonderful human being. As I wrote to his children, there are good men and there great men, and then there's exceptional men who rise above everyone. Dr.William Tansey is one of those men. I couldn't have picked out a better husband for my sister, Jackie, nor a better father for all my nieces and nephews. He leaves a wonderful legacy and one that will be remembered for generations. I'm sure Bill is in heaven and with the saints and the Almighty.
