Dad,
I thought I was prepared for your passing, but it hit me harder than I ever imagined. I never before realized how many inside jokes we shared. Every time I see one of the movies we watched together, I remember how we picked them apart. "It's just a movie" is still something I say when the plot or special effects get stupid.
I'll never be able to watch The Sound of Music without thinking of you, riding the chair lift up the stairs. You, Mom and I singing the tune of "So long, farewell..." but changing the words to "Goodnight, goodnight...".
All those memories make me smile. Some even make me laugh out loud.
I miss you. I love you.
Tap, tap. Mich
