McPhillips, Sr., William J. 79 years, beloved husband of Lucille "Lou" (nee Tuskiewicz), adored father of Peter (Connie), William Jr. (Patty), Katherine (Mike) Lucas, Sue (Steve) Moran, Julie (Scott) Gorris and Lawrence McPhillips, cherished grandpa of Amy, Erin, Theresa, Carly, Peter, Stephen, William J. III, Elizabeth, Timothy and Dane, dearest brother of Thomas (Joanne), James (Judy) and the late Helen (the late George) McCluskey and John (the late Betty) McPhillips, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Bill leaves behind his faithful pal, Penny, a host of friends and scores of uncaught fish. Veteran U. S. Army WWII. Funeral Tuesday, 9:15 a.m., from Thomas McInerney's Sons Funeral Home, 7901 S. Komensky Ave., to St. Patricia Church for Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. Visitation Monday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Interment St. Casimir Cemetery. 773-585-0702.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

My father and Wille grew up in the same neighborhood. My father is John Murphy and he always spoke very fondly of his friend Willie. Recently, Willie had attended some of our family gatherings so I finally got to meet my dad's old pal. He talked to me like he had known me forever. It seems that we had the same political philosophy. He gave me an American flag decal to put on my car. He loved his country. Most of all he loved his wife Lou. Dad told me that a long time ago. I only met Lou on one occasion and I could understand his love for her. She is a very classy lady. I know she will miss Willie very much. I will be praying for her. Dad will miss Willie too.
