My mom and dad and Bill and Alice were friends while they were in the service. I’m documenting my parents time during WW II. I came across a couple of pictures of Alice that I would love to share with her family. I don’t know how to make contact. David Anderson, Morris, Il. I can be reached at 815-274-8440

Dear Mr. Mahar and Beth and Boys,
We were neighbors in Orland Park.
I saw notice and was unable to attend. I am very sorry for your loss. What a 'Great Legacy' to have. Your Dad sounds like he was quite a guy and so served others.
GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU...Didn't know your new address to send a card.
Sincerely,
Sharon Novotny

To the family of "Bill" Mahar:
I served in the Army Reserve with
him and we both retired as a Colonel.
I only get the local Star paper so I didn't see the Death Notice until after the funeral today (10/19). Sorry to miss the funeral.
The last time I saw him was at Nielsen's Bakery with his son.
I want to express my sympathy
for this loss. Understand that there was a full military ceremony which I would have wanted to see.

We offer our sympathy during this difficult time. My first recollection of Billy Mahar is from Uncle Bill and Elaine Doyle’s wedding. He asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. After my reciting of a long list, he gently advised "We do what we can do in life". That he cared to ask, listen and respond defines who Billy Mahar is to me. At a very young age he made me feel special and worthwhile, it was a good day.

Tom, Tina, Bill, Beth,
I just heard about your Dad. I have many fond memories of him, many laughs. I can still hear him calling me, "Mr. O---Donnell", never Phil. Our family's thoughts and prayers are with you all. Phil
