I remember Bill from the time I was a little girl. My parents, Gerald and Margaret Norman were friends with him. He was a great comforter and help to me when I lost my parents (dad in 1990 and mom in 1997). My sympathy goes out to his family, but I'm sure that Bill is in heaven renewing old friendships and cracking jokes.

Wonderful man, just doesn't do justice describing Bill. He was my "DG Dad" when I needed a little extra paternal love. He was there for me and my family when we lost my dad, Chuck Teel. I'll never forget him "coming out of retirement" for me. Parker Mortuary couldn't have been more understanding, but then Bill wouldn't have retired if Parker hadn't continued his caring ways.

Bill will be physically missed, but we can all be comforted by the fact that there is another angel keeping an eye on us.

My sympathies to his family. You are in my family's thoughts and prayers at this time.

Though he was a loyal, long time client of our firm (FFDA), he was a better friend to me and my family. We are very sorry at his passing and will miss him very much. He was truly a kind and caring man.

Now here was a kind man. No matter the occasion, Bill was affable, comforting and always there with a helping hand. He knew the impact of death and always represented comfort and steadfast hope that life would go on for those left behind. Bill was always a friend, who I don't believe would want a big deal made of his passing because he understood it was a part of living. I'm absolutely convinced we'll be together with him again soon, and I'm sure he's making heaven a better place for all of us. To his dear family and all of his close friends and associates, I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies and assurance that your fond memories and the Holy Spirit, combined with Bill's lessons will give us all comfort. I share your grief and I pray for your peace and remind you again that we all had a best friend and were bettered by Bill Huddleston, my longtime friend. With much affection,

Papa - You were one of a kind and to sound cliche' - they broke the mold on you! I have enjoyed all the memories that we have made together over the last 38 years of my life. Your compassion and love for your community can be matched by few to none. So many lives you have touched in a positive way in your lifetime is a great reflection of what kind of a man that you were. I want to say thank you and that I am forever in your debt for teaching me gin rummy, how to make a red beer, countless hours of fun at various Shriner functions (i.e. going to the circus and family picnics), family dinners at the Elks and most importantly to love what you do! My tears are not for sadness, they are for celebrating that you were my papa!

My family has known Bill for many many years. We go back with Parker's when Steve Parker was owner. Bill was such a kind and giving person, and so is his staff. He had such a great sense of humor he could make you laugh when you really didn't want to. Joplin has lost a wonderful community friend.
