William Hohri Obituary

Hohri, William Minoru 83, died on November 12, 2010. He led the class action suit Hohri vs U.S. to the Supreme Court on behalf of all Japanese Americans incarcerated in WWII and will be remembered for his courage, leadership and kindness. A first generation computer programmer and author of three books, including Repairing America, An Account of the Japanese-American Redress, Hohri graduated from The University of Chicago, AB 49 and was a long-time resident of Chicago. He is survived by his wife, Yuriko; daughters, Sasha and Sylvia; brothers, Sohei and Tak; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, November 21 at 11 a.m. in Los Angeles at Fukui Mortuary, 707 E. Temple St., 90012.
