Gwynn, Dr. William L. age 82, husband of Glenda Gwynn, father of Dacia Gordon; grandfather of Christopher and Jason Norwood; Kieone and Morris Gordon. Dr. Gwynn dedicated 38 years of his life to the chilodren of the Chicago Public Schools serving as: teacher, counselor and supervisor of counselors. He retired as Director, The Office of School Attendance, Bureau of Pupil Personnel Services, Chicago Public Schools. Upon his retirement, he served on the Vestry at St. Edumund's Episcopal Church; contributed to philanthropic organizations and was a popular and respected Mentor and Role Model. Prior to becoming an educator, he was a Captain in the U.S. Army and a Chicago Police Officer. Visitation, Saturday, July 1, 2006, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. at St. Edmund's Episcopal Church, 6105 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL. My sympathy and heartfelt condolences are extended to you.
It was a personal pleasure having known and have had interaction with Bill. He was truly a kind individual and always a gentleman.

Mr. Gwynn was my eighth grade math teacher. His wisdom and knowledge was very helpful to me while I was at Parkman. My condolences go out to his family and friends.
