Gronkowski, William "Mr. Bill"

With profound sadness, we announce that Bill passed away peacefully, with family by his side, Saturday, September 21st. He is survived by his loving husband of 18 years, Noel Chesson, his brother Andrew (JoAnn), his nieces Lisa (James) Kiefer, Kristina (David) Giehler, Andrea Gronkowski, Amy (Christopher) Stevenson, great nieces Olivia, Vanessa and Chelsea Kiefer, Mikayla and Jenna Giehler, great nephew Jake Stevenson and his bonus Chesson family of Zak (Amara) and Sajan, Jacqueline "Cupcake" (David), and Jeffery (Mary Ann), also too many cousins and friends to list. He was the proud son of the late Andrew and Clara Gronkowski and devoted brother of the late Richard (Rose) Gronkowski. Bill resided in Plainfield but was raised in Chicago's Canaryville neighborhood where he became an outstanding hairdresser with over 55 years of service to his many relished customers, who became his friends; he was also a gifted decorator. Bill was a terrific storyteller with a memory of an elephant. He had a great personality and always managed to make people around him laugh. Let it be known, all the vodka companies are devastated by his passing. He was a good man, and to know him was to love him. Bill will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts. According to Bill's wishes, he will be cremated, and no service will be held; however, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. If family and friends so wish, memorial donations in his name can be sent to St. Gabriel Catholic School, 4500 South Wallace, Chicago, Il 60609.
