Bill was the best man I ever knew. He had planned to go to Howard University when he got the offer for a full scholarship to Yale. Yale! One of the times we ran into each other after high school, he'd been selected for the Rhodes Scholarship. Rhodes! He was destined to do great things. My deep condolences and prayers to your family. RIP gentle spirit.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Farley. Our class of 1968 choose a great leader in Bill . He was also a member of my church, St Marks in Lewistown and we had a great youth group that he contributed to also. Many fond memories of Bill.

I remember Bill from high school. He had a very quick wit and great sense of humor.
I am quite confident; heaven is now a whole lot brighter.

Bill Farley was the president of my senior class at Lewistown-Granville HS in Lewistown, PA, in 1968. He made an immediate impact on all of us when his family moved to Lewistown many years earlier. We all loved him for his gentle spirit. He will be remembered for many years to come and we will miss his smile.

For every fortunate gift he was given in, Bill Farley gave back to life. His contributions to Urban Gateways programs bringing artists into Chicago Public Schools reached thousands of children and inspired many of them to excel in school the way that Farley did. The arts awakened talents children had and made them develop the imagination to contribute to their surroundings. There is no greater gift than to inspire new generations of children.
Bill Farley's well-lived life was too short. Our hearts go out to his family and his city. He will be missed.
