William Culbertson Obituary

Culbertson William R. Culbertson, 77, of Flushing, formerly of New Athens, passed away peacefully at his home on the beloved family farm on Thursday, August 20, 2015. He now walks with the Lord and his mother, father, sister and brother-in-law. He was born April 18, 1938 in New Athens, a son of the late Robert W. and Margaret Elizabeth White Culbertson. Mr. Culbertson was a lifelong member of the New Athens Presbyterian Church. He retired after 32 years as a Computer Programmer for Borden Co. in Columbus. He served as the Vice President of the Franklin High School Alumni Association for many years, and enjoyed farming, especially farm equipment and traveling. He was also fond of the Stumptown Steam Threshers and the Ohio Farm Science Review, but especially loved just spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Ellen Riggle and a brother-in-law William Mosebey. Surviving are his family, whom he dearly loved, including three children, Robert J. Culbertson of Campo, CA, Nancy (Scott) Greene of Degraff, OH and James W. Culbertson of Lakeview, OH; seven grandchildren, Louis, Kimberly, Nicole, Sara, Joe, Luke and Jade; a great grandson, Phoenix; a sister, Carolyn Mosebey of Wells Tannery, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at CLARK-KIRKLAND FUNERAL HOME, Cadiz, OH. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the New Athens Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Walter McNutt and Mary Ann Droll officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Athens Presbyterian Church, c/o Linda Love, P.O.
