My Grandpa was a no nonsense man, serious about his daily routine and always told me to have a buck in my pocket. He was a product of the Great Depression and all the horrors that came with it. He lived through so many hardships in his life as he told me about it. Managed to become a success despite all of that. I always will look up to you for teaching me a lot about the world. Hope your resting easy Grandpa, it’s been 4 years but it feels like you just died yesterday sometimes. -J

I got to know Bill at the MWRD as a Lab Technician Bill would always tell me he could "light (my) fire" but I was responsible for making it burn (continuously); he was proud of his Jesuit upbringing and I could relate to it since I have had previous experience with these teachings; Bill was a no nonsense guy and demanded you look at him when he spoke; and rightly so; I admired this in him and I enjoyed his keen storytelling talent and his genuine interest in myself.
So long old friend...I cannot forget you

RIP, Shipmate:

Sailors pray,
For fair winds and a following sea
The smell of salt in the air,
The feel of their skin as it's touched by the spray
An albatross soaring above,
Dolphins in the ship's wake at play
To witness a work of art that only God can create,
The sunset at the end of day
At night a million stars in the sky,
Safe anchorage in an islands lee

When the time comes to die as for all it must,
To awake in Sailors Heaven where nothing ever rusts

And always there would be,
Fair winds and a following sea

Coping with the death of our loved ones is not an easy task. No doubt the interchange of love between you and your loved one has resulted in beautiful memories that can be reflected upon daily. May you draw comfort by reflecting on those memories. And know that God is near all those broken at heart. Isaiah 57:15
