William Bowers Obituary

CAYCE%% Services for William Uirven Bowers, 75, of Cayce, will be held at 1 pm Thursday, December 16, 2004 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, officiated by Rev. Charles Grooms. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bowers, husband of Myrtle Faye Bush Bowers, died Monday, December 13, 2004. Born in Hartsville, he was the son of the late J.T. and Dorothy Jones Bowers. Mr. Bowers was honorably retired from the United States Army, having served over 20 years. He was a Mason with Hampton Masonic Lodge # 204 in Florence and retired from Job Corp.

Surviving in the home, besides his wife, is son, Carl Anthony Bowers. Other survivors are sons, Bill Bowers, Jr., David Bowers, and Gary Bowers, all of CA; daughters, Tasita Reffert (Richard) of TN, Gail Allen of TX; sister, Dorothy Sewell (Harry); 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
