Age 92; beloved husband of Lillian D. Allen (Alm). Loving role model to Donna (William) Piccirillo, Kathie Alm, James Alm, Patricia (Dave) Cochonour, Edward Alm, Laura Piccirillo, and the late Anthony Alm. Cherished grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 7. Proud son of the late Joseph and Catherine Allen. Dear brother of the late Matthias and Breda Allen. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Former Chief of Surgery at Mercy Hospital and Dr. for the Chicago White Sox. Avid golfer, enjoyed saduko, crossword puzzles, and world history. Extremely compassionate and caring for others. Visitation Friday 3-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday 10:45 a.m. from the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL to Our Lady of the Woods Church, Mass 11:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 would be appreciated. Willie Allen as my family (Gleeson) called him will always be remembered as a kind and gentle doctor.I loved taking care of his patients at Mercy back in our day and all his patients loved him!! Rest In Peace!!

Dr Allen taught several generations of surgeons and each and everyone of us left a better surgeon, a better person. We could never thank him enough.
