I'll always remember Mrs. Sloan. She was my freshman Algebra teacher at Hyde Park High School.
She was not only an excellent teacher; she was an outstanding role-model and mentor for a young teen girl. Dignified and gracious, Mrs. Sloan had the demeanor of royalty. She demonstrated a quiet inner-strength.
She was also our Senior Class Sponsor which was no easy task as our 1965 graduating class was the "militant" class.
She is now with the angels and will remain in our hearts forever.
