Wilbur Betters Obituary

Wilbur (Bill) LeRoy Betters Bill, 90, was born July 4, 1921, and peacefully passed away August 30, 2011. He was born in Puyallup, WA, graduated from Puyallup HS, and proudly joined and served in the Seascouts, Navy, and Army. He married Katherine Buselmeier; they had 4 children, Richard, Dennis, Darrell and Darlene. They were married 27 years until Kathy's death in 1974. Bill married again to wife Lorraine (Rainie) and her 3 children, Rick, Ron, and Nora. Bill retired from the IBEW Local 76 Union, having a career in the electronics industry. He loved to hunt and travel, and was an avid Boy Scout Leader, receiving the Silver Beaver Award. Bill was a life member of the Masonic Corinthian Lodge #38, American Legion Post #67, Elks, and a member of the Puyallup Eagles for many years. His blended family with grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him. Predeceased by his parents, daughter-in-law Linda, and son Rick Anderson. Survived by wife Rainie of 36 years, daughters Darlene (Jerry) and Nora, sons Richard (Sally), Dennis, Darrell, and Ron, with 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on her way, due in October. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, whom we will all miss very much. Memorial service at Hill Funeral Home, 11 am Saturday, September 10, 2011, 217 E. Pioneer Ave, Puyallup. A Celebration of Life reception will follow at Rainier Manor Club House, 14110 70th Street East, Sumner. Donations to MultiCare Hospice Program.

I loved to stay at Uncle Bill's and Aunt Kate's home! So many wonderful childhood memories. Uncle Bill always charished us little girls. He will be missed.
