To my newly found cousins in Chicago, I want to express my sincere sympathy on the loss of your dear mother, Virginia. It was such a joy to have finally "found" her, and I do wish we could have met, but that was not to be. I'll be sure to contact her relatives here in Massachusetts and in Sweden, as most of them did know that Johanna Lovisa Johansdotter Anderson's granddaughter, Virginia, had been located. I know that they, too, will be saddened by the news of her death, but we will celebrate her life with you in spirit even though we are miles apart. Sincerely, Doris Johnson

My dear cousins, Barbara,Mary, John, Bridget and Elizabeth, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Aunt Virginia was very dear to me & of course your family will always be special to me. I am so sorry I cannot be with you at this time. I have been staying with my daughter Erin and her family, as you know things happen & we need each other's support. Erin lives near Tampa FL. My love & prayers go out to you. You are on my mind and in my heart.
My mom once told your dad they were the last of the Mohicans, well my mom is the only one left. We really are the Old Timers now, aren't we? Sincerely with love,
Your cousin, Noreene

It was always great to see Mother Harkins. She was ever in good spirits and interested in how everyone was getting along. I would love to chat with her at the family parties. She was great.
May happy memories help you through the sad times.
Love to all, Quinn, Patti, and the boys.

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

To the Harkins family, its with a heavy heart that I pay my condolences. Although I never met Mrs. Harkins, I work with her son John and he is a great man which speaks to the type of mother she must have been. May God sustain you all.
