Viola F. Seidler, 81, of Wausau, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, on Monday, June 6, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 1, 1934, to Ernest and Edna (Raddatz) Holtz in Wausau. Viola was raised on the family farm in the town of Stettin and later married Gerald Seidler on June 13, 1959, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau. Together Gerald and Viola purchased and operated a dairy farm for 37 years in the town of Berlin. In addition to working on the farm, Violet had worked for Larson Cleaners and later substituted as a cook for many schools in the Wausau area.

Viola was a helpful and selfless person, and she kept herself busy on the farm and raising four children with Gerald. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and canning her harvest. Viola and Gerald enjoyed vacations and traveling together including many of the national parks. Family and especially her grandchildren were an important part of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald; children, Terry (Linda) Seidler, Julie (Adam) Hirte, Pamela (Darin) Aschbrenner, and Clint (Brittany) Seidler; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gerhardt (Elaine) Holtz; and sisters, Velma (Stanley) Schultz and Doris (Raymond) Zunker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Edna; and brother, Gilbert (Elaine) Holtz.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 426 Washington St., Wausau, with Rev. Philip Schneider officiating. Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 12, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, town of Maine.
