Victor Markiewicz Obituary

I am so saddened by Vic's passing. In the 60's and early 70's, Vic & I were like brothers. I'll never forget the good times Vic and I had.
You will surely be missed by all and I will see you again.

Vic was a wonderful, kind, caring man. I attended Lemont High with him and he brought me a lot of laughs. Blessings on the family during a very difficult time.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Vic. It was only a few years ago I had the chance to sit with him and recall the memories of our childhood in Lemont. He was guite a fellow and had his finger on the pulse of Lemont. His memory lives on in his family, his friends, and those he touched - however briefly.

To The Markiewicz Family:
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Vic. He has touched the hearts of so many people, he will not be forgotten, his smile, his voice, his warmth, and his wit.

Our deepest sympathy to Connie and family. May you find comfort in the many fond memories that have been created over the years. Also, know that there are many friends and a community that share your grief. Vic was a wonderful friend but most of all, a wonderful husband, father and son.

When you look into the evening sky, look for the brightest star in the sky, that will be Vic looking down on all of you, watching over you and keeping you strong. God bless each of you.

Connie, Matt and all of the family...I am so sorry to hear of Vic's passing. He was such a warm, compassionate and loving man that made everyone feel so good in his presence. Denise and I always enjoyed his and Matt's visits to our office during funeral services at Franciscan Village. And I loved having him on my original board at FV. I know that he will be greatly missed in not only your lives, but the lives of all who knew him. God Bless!

To Connie and family,it is with great sadness that we send this message on the passing of Vic. Over the years we have known you and Vic and came to appreciate the his friendship. Vic was a friend to all of Lemont and many of its citizens and we are honored to be among them. Vic will be missed by all of us but we feel that he would want us all to grieve and than remember all of the great times we had together. We will always remember Vic by the smile on his face and in his heart.

My sympathies to Connie and the rest of the family. Vic was always one of my favorite people when he bowled at Lockport Lanes during the years that my family and I owned it. I still tell the story of Vic coming dressed as a clown (nose, hat, shoes and all) to bowl one Halloween night. He was a truly fine gentleman.

When my husband died 2 years ago, Vic and his son Mat were there for me and my family, and it meant a great deal to all of us. He was a wonderful man and will be missed terribly.

My deepest sympathy to the Markiewicz family. I fondly remember Vic calling my mom and apologizing because he couldn't be there for my grandfather's funeral last year. Vic always put others before himself and could always make you laugh during the times of grief. He will be missed by all.

To all the Markiewicz and Marzec family members, we share your sadness at Vic's passing. For me, Vic was the "face of Lemont". I always enjoyed visiting with him as he was one of a kind, and it was a pleasure to be in his company for the laughs and those wonderful stories! We will miss him greatly.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I never met Vic but knew him through his pervious Answering Service ( General) he was always very pleasent to talk with. I'm sure he will be Greatly missed.

The prayers of all our family go out to the entire Markiewicz family in their hour of sorrow. I knew Vic since grade school at St Cyril's and still have a lot of fond memories I will cherish forever.

Like many other Lemonters, both my husband and I have had our families helped through the worst of times by Vic and his caring personality. We will remember Vic as a wonderful person who put 100% effort into everything he did. His kindness and personal magnetism will not soon be forgotten

Vic's personality was his highlight in everything he ever accomplished. The list is endless. His Legacy will live in the hearts of the many families he has helped through the years. His integrity, and professionalism throughout Lemont and Chicagoland will be missed dearly. He will now join my parents, and all the choirs of Angels that await him. God Bless the entire Markiewicz/Marzec Family. Connie, Jan, Bev, Nick, Meredith, Matt, Lauren, Brian, and of course our wonderful Matriarch Sally. you are truly a wonderful family, and need to remain strong at this very sad time. Matt, hold your head high my friend. You now have a wonderful wife, and a trade & family business you can be proud of. I know that you'll continue to carry Dad's legacy, and that great name in the Lemont Community. I know Vic will be watching and smiling down on all of us. Probably making us laugh from heaven. That would be the way he'd want it!

Although difficult as it is, for all at this time, one can take solice and remember Vic's true insight and most of all - his humorous nature. We vision him now together with Bob Milhalek setting up a video cable program of the events in the heaven community and lining up any sporting events broadcasts they can be involved in. To us it is a fittiing memory of a generous and special Lemonter.

I am truly saddened by the loss of Uncle Vic. He was a wonderful man who would always keep us laughing and smiling. I have many fond memories of Uncle Vic at St. Cyril's and Lemont basketball games, family weekends in New Buffalo with the "Lemont crew", and visits out in Boston. Our Deepest sympathy to you and your family on your loss. I remember Vic back when I played basketball and he was a ref. Also to the days of being an alter server at St. Cyril's. He and I even go back to my bowling days at the Lemont Lanes. He will never be forgotten in many peoples lives.
