Verna Roehrle Obituary

Verna H. Roehrle 88, of Ellicott City Verna Helen Roehrle, 88, of Ellicott City, died Monday, July 20, 2009, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. Born Jan. 22, 1921, in Woodlawn, she was the daughter of the late Carroll G. and Helen A. Terry Roehrle. She was a 1939 graduate of Catonsville High School. She retired from Ramsay Scarlett & Company in 1983. She served as chancellor to Sweden for Baltimore through an appointment by the king of Sweden. She was a lifelong member of Bethany United Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, travel, and being a member of the WKK Bethany Club. Surviving are brother and sister-in-law Veronn W. and Effie Roehrle, of Mount Airy; a niece; three nephews; and two grandnieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Vernon C. Roehrle. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel/Auditorium, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, with the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158. Arrangements are by Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, Winfield. Online condolences may be offered at www.burrier-queen.com.
