Russo, Vera Clarice age 86, late of Manhattan, IL, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. She is survived by two daughters, Paula (Tony) Basile of Manhattan and Susan (Jim) Lawler of Naperville, four granddaughters, Nicole (Joseph) Walsh, Ashley Lawler, Brittany Lawler and Mallory Lawler, four grandsons, Anthony (Traci) Basile, Phillip (fiancé Dana Grube) Basile, Aaron (Amy) Lawler and Joshua Lawler, two great-grandchildren Connor and Morgan, one sister Maureen (Gordon) Wagner of England. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Edith Joleff Phillips, husband Carl Russo, two brothers Raymond and Leslie Phillips and one sister Elsie Mortimore. Vera worked at the Marshal Fields on State Street in the cosmetic department for 20 years. Funeral Service for Vera Clarice Russo will be 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from the Forsythe Funeral Home, Manhattan, to St. Joseph Church, 235 W. North Street, Manhattan. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:15 a.m. Interment Queen Of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Memorials of your choice would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

We were blessed to enjoy Vera's company at Amy and Aaron's wedding last summer. She really rose to the occassion. It has been wonderful to be part of the extended Russo family, and I am just sorry that I will not be able to join you at the service tomorrow.
