Moreno, Valentine "Val" Age 89, lifelong of South Deering, passed away November 8, 2014. Beloved husband of Piedad (nee Chavez) for 65 years; loving father of Laura (Mark) Weiss, Daniel (late Laura) Moreno, James (Adela) Moreno, Andrew Moreno, Catherine (Jeff) LaPlante, Susan (Joseph) Zozzaro, Rudolph Moreno, the late Richard Moreno, and the late David Moreno. Val is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; dear brother of Josephine, Alice, Henry, and Adelaide; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force WWII. He was a retired employee of Republic Steel and a member of the G.I. Forum. Visitation Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services Friday, November 14, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave., Chicago to St. Kevin Church.
