Tomiko Rago Obituary

Rago, Tomiko

Tomiko Rago, age 90, late of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on March 2, 2025 following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert (Bob), her parents, Manjiro and Kimi (Oki) Komiya and her siblings: Setuko and Kazuaki (Eiko) Komiya.

Tomiko was born on April 18, 1934 in Tokyo, Japan. She met Bob while he was stationed there (US Army). They were married on June 5, 1957 and moved to Chicago, IL in 1958 and then to Tinley Park, IL in 1997. They remained there until Bob's death in 2018. Tomiko moved to Virginia Beach, where she lived the remainder of her days.

She is survived by her children: Cathy (Tom Marosi) McAndrew, Pat (Michael Cook) Rago, Terry (Kevin) Robinson and Jim (Angela) Rago. Proud grandmother of Jim (Jennifer) McAndrew, Timothy, Eric (Andrea) and Jeremy Robinson, Kayleigh (David) Barnett and Reece Rago; great grandmother of Anthony McAndrew, Charlie and Henry Robinson. Dear aunt of Michael Rago, Kazunori Komiya and Kazumi (Eiji) Ozawa.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local Alzheimer's Association. https://www.alz.org/

Her ashes will be placed next to her husband at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

Memorial services will be held in private.
