You were my protector, brother,best friend and more. You were always a true gentleman towards me. You knew me the best out of anyone. I loved acting silly and like a big dork with you. You picked me up when I was down. As I thought I did for you. I feel at times I may have failed you. With that said, my deepest apologies my Tommy. The best was us laughing at our own personal jokes. The jokes that no one had a clue about. My heart misses you as much as the first day I herd you had passed. Saying goodbye to you was the hardest ever.

Tommy was the best person I have ever known. I will never forget him. I owe him everything. The world died a little when Tommy left us. I am deeply sorry. My only hope is God and Tommy are telling jokes to each other and Tommy stays laughing forever. God help the rest of us to live like Tommy did because I believe that is what God wants.

I never got to know you as well as I probably should have. But what I remember of meeting you 13years ago was a fun-loving, smiling, generous man with a kind heart. Thanks for the Bugs Bunny.

It's just so hard to think his life seemed to be going so well and then we all received the tragic news. I still can't believe Tom really is gone. My prayers to his fiancee, family, and friends.

We were so sad to hear of Tom's passing. We have only seen Tom a few times in the past several years but we have so many fond memories of hanging out with him and his friends many years ago. We remember him for his great personality and sense of humor, easy going nature and that smile that brightened anyone's day. We hope Tom has found his peace and we pray for his family and friends through this difficult time.

I went to junior high with Tommy at Our Lady of Ransom school in Niles. I was new to the school in 6th grade and Tommy always made me feel welcome and accepted...not an easy thing to do at that difficult age! I never heard him speak a negative word about anyone...he was quick with a smile and a genuinely happy person. I saw Tommy last year at the OLR carnival; we had lost touch over the years, but both being cops, had a common bond and quickly caught up on things. Yesterday, I heard about Tom's death and was shocked and saddened by this terrible news. I am so sorry that I was unable to attend the wake and funeral. I'm sure Tommy will be sorely missed by everyone he knew, not the least his brothers and sisters of the Niles Police Department. On behalf of myself and all of the Investigators of the Illinois Secretary of State Police, I offer my deepest condolences to the Chamopoulos family. Tommy, rest in peace, my brother...your watch in this troubled world is over...we will all look for your smiling face in the better place!

I have not seen or talked to Tom for many years. We had attended high school together, but lost touch soon after graduation. I was very saddened by the news of his passing. Others have written how wonderful and genuine a person he was. I can tell you that those are exactly the words I would use to describe him even that long ago. The fact that he hadn't changed through all of the years is testament to such a great person. My deepest sympathy to Tom's family and friends. I know he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Tom.

Tom was always a guy one could count on to cheer us up and make us smile. When I was at my lowest,Tom would pick me up so my feet would'nt touch the ground. I miss him and will Love him always. His family and fiancee are in my prayers always and I will forever be at their beckoned call. Tom,we all miss you and hope your making Steve laugh.

I am deeply saddened as I write this. I met Tom when we were just kids, as he was great friends with my cousin, Joe Paul. During our high school and college-aged years, the group of us spent so very many days just enjoying what life had to offer us. Tom was the best friend a person could have, and I still have yet to meet an individual with a heart or soul as big as Tommy’s. He was always there for you and always willing to give of himself. Although we didn’t keep in touch as much as I would have liked after I moved to TX, so often are the times that I reflect back on all the great times we shared growing up, and smile just from the memories. Mourning the loss of him will take some time, but we all should be so very thankful that we were blessed to have him in our lives. Until we meet again Tommy, thanks for being who you were, as it made me a better person. My prayers are with you and your family.
