My condolences to all who knew and worked with Dr. Field. He was one of the doctors who repeatedly brought me back to life after a car accident in 1984. I heard that his work on me was recounted in The Lancet. He was undoubtedly a miracle worker. He will be sorely missed.

Patti and Family, Tim was a really wonderful man. I remember when my boys were little he took us rocket shooting with his boys. He was just as excited as the kids but also very strict about safety. You could see all the love he had for all of us. It is a special memory. We had so much fun!!

To the family of Dr Fields I was one of his last patients at Ingalls, my surgery was on 2-14-11. Dr Fields was a gift from God. No other surgeon would touch my case and he told me he would perform my surgery, if it wasn't for God and Dr Fields i can tell you I would not be here today. My husband and children thank him with all our hearts.God bless all of his family and love ones thank you for sharing him with me.Our prayers go out for all of you.Veronica Peterson 3-26-12...

To Tim's dear family,
I learned today about the loss of Tim and his struggle the past 11 months. I worked alongside of Tim as a critical care nurse at Ingalls Hospital. I had the pleasure of working also with his father briefly who he was so proud of and spoke often about. Tim was first and foremost a patient advocate, an outstanding surgeon and a good teacher. He was truly human, always smiling, witty and compassionate. He never stopped trying to improve himself both personally and professionally. To live such a short time on this earth is sad, but to know that he made a huge difference in this world is lovely. I was honored to be his friend. Peace be with all of you during this time.

I had the honor of working with Tim for the last 16 years. He was kind, considerate and always provided excellent care to my patients. I probably referred over 500 patients to him over the years and never heard one complaint. He was a leader and innovator at Ingalls. I will miss him on multiple levels. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. I am glad that his suffering is over and he is with the Lord in Heaven.

Dr. Field will be greatly missed by Brossett Corp Wound Care and Hyperbarics. He was such a great doctor to work with. We speak highly of him all over the country. I'll miss him answering the phone trying to speak in a real southern voice to sound like us in Louisiana. We always called him "Dr. Fieldgood" because he made us feel so good to call him our doctor. We will reunite with him in heaven some day but until then we will have wonderful memories. Our condolences to his wife, children, and rest of his family.

I have known Dr. Field for 25 years, and over the years have learned so much from him about both medicine and life. He was a gifted surgeon and such an asset to our community. God Bless you and your family, and I know we share a faith that assures that we will meet again. To the Field family- May God give you peace that passes understanding and memories that last a lifetime. Karen Gossage (Crete, IL)

To all of the Field family, I just heard the news about Tim & am so sorry. I remember first meeting all the family 30+ years ago & although life kept us busy, would still be in touch with Flo & occasionally see Tim at the hospital. Tim seemed very upbeat several weeks ago, so I pray that he was doing well enough to be able to enjoy his last weeks with his family. May you all find comfort in knowing that now Dr. Bob, Flo & Tim are restored to health & reunited in heaven.

He was a good man and a great doctor who helped me tremendously through my breast cancer and never gave up hope that my foot ulcer would heal. He always made me feel like I was his only patient, his number one priority – just like I know he did to all his patients. There is a new star in the sky to watch over all of us.

I learned much from Dr. Tim from a child to now a man. I've known him my whole life and I'm grateful to have known him that long. Dr. Tim I will never forget your words of encouragement to me over the years when I would visit Ingalls, you never let me make an excuse when I was said I hated school and now I'm finishing my masters. You helped in saving my grandfather's life twice. So THANK YOU Dr. Tim you will be greatly missed. May God bless this family with love. Rest In Peace Dr. Tim

This marks the end of an era with both Tim and his father in the medical field. Dedicating their lives to the lives of others.Tim Field was a passionate man, whether it was in surgery, with patients, or in his love of Harleys, corvettes, and even fire engines. Don't ever remember a day since we met 27 years ago that he frowned. We will miss his humor, his stride, his compassion and most of all his smile. This is someone who we will truly miss. We cannot say good bye, but merely til we meet again..... May you rest in peace. JG

My mother Betty Kipley for Field Surgical until her retirement. She enjoyed working for Dr. Robert Field and kept in touch with he and his wife Florence. She is now confined to her home with Parkinson's and related dementia. She would be greatly saddened to hear of Tim's passing. Thoughts and prayers to the Field family.

R.I.P. Dr. Field - our thoughts and prayers are with your family and colleagues. I was in Ingalls last week, and could feel the sense of approaching loss everyone was exhibiting. When I was with you, I knew I was the most important patient in the hospital, and I know your other patients had the same feeling!

Dear Field Family,
Dr. Field was my Dad's doctor for 10 years before he passed away in 2010. My Dad trusted him and respected him with all of his being. Dr. Field performed surgery on both my Mom and Dad -- he was the most wonderful man. Please know that Dr. Field helped so many -- and his legacy will continue in the lives he saved. God bless you all.

Timmy, Kristen, & Sean, always keep the love that your father had for you all in your hearts. Every time I would talk to your dad or I would visit him, at his office, we would go through the pictures of you all in his office and he would bring me up to speed about what was going on in your lives. Perfect, no he wasn't, but he had such a good heart. I don't know if you all remember, I know Sean doesn't, but I use to read to you all the old Irish blessing, that hung at the top of the stairs, in your old house. Hold on to the last part that says"and until we meet again, may GOD hold you in the palm of HIS hand. Your dad is now with GOD and GOD is comforting you, and protecting you in the palm of HIS hand. I will miss your dad dearly, but he will always have a special place in my heart. I love you all richly. Hugs and Kisses Always. Love always, your favorite (SMILE) babysitter, Lavell Wall & Marcus & Marissa Abston
