I "met" Tom via e-mail in May 2000, while I was trying to track down my family history. I was very excited to discover a "long-lost cousin" out there -- and what a marvelously warm and helpful cousin he was! Tom shared a lot of genealogical research and family photos that provided the information I needed to fill in the missing puzzle piece. Because of him, I can now extend my knowledge of my family (and its whereabouts) from 1902 back to the 1700s. It was so sad to lose my new "cousin" (sixth cousin? Only Tom would know how to figure that out!) before I'd really had a chance to know him.

I was very shocked to read in the paper that Tom had died. I did not know him personally, but I did speak to him at various events and he was a great friendly person. I am sure he will be missed. I am so sorry to know that he has passed on.
