Dear Bob, Joy and family:
Deeply sorry to hear of the loss of your dear brother and his wife. Remember playing football in the vacant lot across the street from our home at 9201 Claremont with Bob and Tim. This goes back to the early 50's if I'm not mistaken. These were fun times and will always be remembered. Many years have passed since those innocent times. Don't recall who won those football games but we do remember that we all had a great time together. We broke a window in the Meghagan house to the south one day and we caught all H because our dads had to fix the window that day. Great times despite the mistakes we made. Jim was in the neighborhood recently (50th from Christ the King) and pointed out to his wife where the Lappins lived, among others. We remember the Lappins with fond memories and grieve with you at the loss of your loved ones. Bob, if you have a chance, please communicate with Jim @ [email protected] Would like to talk with you and exchange information re all of the Sullivans and to get up to date on the Lappins.
We grieve your loss with you. Tim was a great guy! and we only knew him as a kid neighbor!

To the entire Lappin family
I was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic loss of your parents. Although I never met Anne, I feel that I know her and the rest of your family. Dr. Lappin was my doctor for nearly 30 years and in that time, he was always ready to share stories of his wonderful children and loving wife. Whenever I saw "Doc", he always had a smile for me and assured me that he would fix anything that ailed me. His friendly manner made him an exceptional doctor and a friend. His presence will be truly missed. Please know that your family and his dedicated staff are in my thoughts and prayers now.

I was shocked to hear about the very sad and tragic news of your parents death. I can only imagine how stressful these days have been for all of you.
Dr. Lappin was my doctor for some 30 years. He was one-of-a-kind… a good doctor and a great friend with a fun personality that made him a delight to be around. Everyone who knew him at all will have lost a great friend and for all his family he has left a place that can never be filled.
He was so proud of all of you. It’s difficult to convey my deep sadness but I feel like I should know all of you personally. He loved to share family stories with all of us.
Your parents will be very close to all of you in spirit, having only gone beyond the sound of your voices and the touch of your hands. While death brings sadness, it’s comforting to know that they are still together.
Because of my health issues I couldn't be with you during this time but I hope you find it comforting at least in some small way, to know that I with you in spirit.
My deepest sympathy in your great loss.

Our thoughts and prayers to each of you in the loss of your parents. When my friend sent me an e-mail informing me of the tragedy. I immediately thought of this incident relating to your father. I was a nurse at the old Delnor Hospital(early 70's) working the night shift. Your father was a dedicated physician. He expected perfection in all of us working at the hospital. He was admitted to the hospital and needed IV fluids.(Many nurses felt intimediated by him)I was told by my supervisor,
"I was the best at finding the veins and no one could intimediate me, I would not have a problem" I walked into the room scared to death that I would not be able to do this. Your father was a dear man, I felt at ease. After the procedure was completed he complimented me on my professionalism and ability to perform this procedure. I am sure your loss will be felt by many others.

To the Lappin family, i am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your mother and father. i used to work with your father at the old delnor and wanted to share some memories of him. Like the time he sent a bunch of us nurses that had been dieting to the Como Inn for dinner, and then drove us down Michigan ave to see the christmas lights. That was a great night. and when he first bought his porsche he took me for a ride while i was working on a sunday afternoon,, we carreened down rt 25 at a very high speed but what fun, he did enjoy scaring me to death. your dad was a great guy and will be missed by many. He did alot of things for alot of people besides just being their doctor.

I used to be a waiter at Nick's fishmarket in Rosemont. That is how I met Doc Lappin and his wonderful family. They are great people. He opened up his home and his heart to all of us from the restaurant and would have the "Lappin Open" every year I was there. We would drive out to St. Charles and golf, then we would all head on over to his house for a big bbq. Good times. My prayers are with his family.
