I was fortunate to have met
Tom 21 years ago upon my first assignment as a firefighter. His sense of humor still lingers with me and his warmth was immediate. There was never any doubt that his loyalties lied with his brothers in uniform, some of whom I am sure were there to greet him last week. It was with him that I took what will probably the best fishing trip of my lifetime, in Canada. And he's probably exchanging fishing stories right now with Peter, Andrew, James and John, where the sky is always clear, the sun warm and the fish biting.

Dear Diane & Boys; Sam, Janet & Family,
May G-d Keep You All in the hallow of His hand at this extremely tough and challenging time. Many thoughts and prayers are with you--may He hear them all, embrace and support you lovingly and provide you strength in the months to come.
I feel fortunate to be one of the many, many people to have known, to have shared, to have laughed and even cried, with all of you in years past. Words can not express the depth of sadness felt at this time. Loss stinks..it just does.
In the continuation of Tommy's journey, I choose to think of him doing what might make him happy: A beautiful morn. The fish are biting. A Captain's hat on his head. A pole in his hand (his meticulously sorted tackle alongside him, of course). Aboard his boat in the middle of a peaceful lake, reflecting ... knowing in his heart what a great job he did during his time here ... whether by his friendship or in his profession. The lives he touched, the people he helped and made laugh along the way, and the fish he made happy by throwing back.
G-d Bless You M'Friend ...
* You are very missed Tommy Koch *
