Dear Audree: I was shocked when I heard about Tom last night. My heart goes out to you and your family. Tom was such a good friend to Richard and called all the time to check on him. After Richard died, he often called to see if I was OK. I can't believe he too is gone. Richard probably just needed a good golf player in heaven, so the Good Lord sent him one of the best!! Those two really had fun.. I remember 2 years ago in Florida, when we stopped in the church gift store after Mass, there was a green golf hat with an Irish message on it in the window but none for sale. Richard made them sell it to him so he could send it to Tom and he couldn't wait for the return call he knew he would be getting. They're already watching over us. You both will be in my prayers and Tom will be deeply missed.

That little guy could sure play golf and myself and all his friends loved being with him.I hope I meet him in golf heaven when I go. I can pick up some good pointers. I guess you can say I loved the guy.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Haywood last June and he was always a great friend to my father. I know they have met again in heaven and are watching over you during this very difficult time. We will pray for you and your family and hope that your memories carry you through the coming weeks.

Audree, I join you and your family in the sorrow of the loss of Tom. He was my first and best college friend. We enjoyed teasing each other during our stay at St Mary's and during my subsequent visits to Chicago. I wish there was space to share stories of so many of our fun times together. I cannot express how deeply I am sadden but can assure you that Tom will always be in my prayers.
Always your friend, Ken
