I worked with Tom for 35 years at Central Steel. He was a great co-worker and even better person. My condolences to his family. RIP Tom

There are no words, and definitely no reason, to describe the shock and sadness of losing Uncle Tom. Everyone who met Tom loved him and remembers him. I'm amazed at the response from people randing from my grade school friends, to cousins-in-law, to basically anyone who had a chance to spend time with him. Everyone knew and loved "Uncle Tom" - he was truly one of the nicest, most friendly, and funny people - he brought energy, fun and laughter to all get-togethers. I can still hear him bickering with my dad over the horses, and picture him playing hockey with our boys in the basement, slipping food and treats to our dog on Xmas Eve, and just asking me how I was doing. We are all so lucky to have had him in our lives, and will miss him greatly.
We love you Tom,
Carrie, Mike, Jake, Cole and Oscar the bulldog...

To the best uncle anyone could ever ask for. Never felt closer to any guy (except dad). I can remember all that he did for everyone going back all of my years. Blessed we just got the chance to see him again over the holidays. That's what makes this so unreal. We were just talking and having a beer a few days ago. Everybody has such kind words for Tom. We are so fortunate he was able to meet and enjoy Josh and Hailey. He will be so missed by all but more by myself. I enjoyed coming back to Chicago knowing I would see Tom at some point every time.
We all loved him very much,
Michael Kristin Joshua Hailey and Klondike the dog.....

Tom was a wonderful uncle to my husband and sister in law. He was very involved in their lives and came to all our family events. He even became very involved as a Great Uncle and I am sad that our children will not have a chance to get to know him better. I will really miss seeing him at all our family parties. He was truly one of the nicest people I have ever met. Uncle Tom always went out of his way to ask how everyone else was doing or if they needed anything. We will miss him. Our sympathy goes out to his loving wife Bev and his brother Mike.

I'll miss Tom every day. He was a wonderful Godfather, and an even better friend to my parents and many others. His glowing and friendly personality made everyone he came in contact with love him. I'll always remember growing up with him by our family's side and being blessed to have him in it. Love you, Tom.
