Honored to have known +Tom + as professor, colleague, and friend. His disarming wit and humor plus his masterful musical expertise and leadership made him an ideal mentor to hundreds of Concordians over the years. May light perpetual shine.

Tom, beloved mentor in more than music. You were a true friend, closer than a brother. You believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. And that is now bearing fruit. I'm sure our Heavenly Father has you in His Favoritchor!

We, the Iverson family want to extend our sympathies to all of your family, especially Linda, who was a great Walther classmate of mine. May you find comfort in the love your Dad shared with the community at Concordia and the love he had for his family. God be with you. Ralph&Hilda and Donna Iverson-Vander Schoor

I studied organ with Dr Gieschen for a time, he'd sit next to me on the bench, and didn't miss a thing! He was a wonderful teacher who had a great impact on me, and I treasure the memories of those times at the Holtkamp organ in Kretzmann Hall.
Peace you you my friend, you will be missed.

I praise and thank God for the privilege of having Tomas Gieschen as one of my teachers. He wrote a special solo for a fellow student to sing at my wedding based on my favorite Bible passage, Ps. 100. Deaconess Mary Barney

To the Gieschen Family, In 1964 the beginnings of Kapelle tours and organ lessons began a teacher/student relationship with "gifts galore." You were so gracious at graduation time to invite my parents over for a meal and they never forgot the kindness. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate the life on earth that we all miss for now. Blessings in all the days ahead!

Among my many memories of dear Dr. Gieschen were his gifts of humor and patience. He brightened our Kapelle rehearsals with many bright quips (and puns) and sat through most of my organ lessons with wonderful patience while I played each piece carefully, usually choosing a Lento tempo. Heaven's choir has now received a wonderfully gifted participant. My sympathy to Tom's family and prayers for comfort and peace.

Dear Roselyn and family --
Thank you for the many kindnesses you and Tom have afforded me over all these years.
I will be forever grateful to Jesus for placing Tom in my educational path for his mentoring in organ, conducting, and vocal tech. The memories of the concerts and the people we met on The Kapelle World Tour will be etched into my heart forever.
May our Crucified and Risen Lord, who now holds Tom in His Everlasting Arms, embrace and comfort all of you in these difficult days to come.

With great admiration and gratitude to the Lord for the gift of this modern saint through his teaching, leading, mentoring, and demonstration of love for God's people and His gift of music. May the Spirit of our Lord comfort and bless those he leaves behind with his memory and the joyful anticipation of the Resurrection.

I will always remember singing to God's glory in Kapelle under your direction. Now you have joined that heavenly host of choir singers. May the Lord give you, the Gieschen family, "Joy" in your loss as you know Dr. Gieschen wears the "Crown of Eternal Life"!
God Bless all of you!
