Dr. Duffy was my pediatrician for many years at his Northbrook office. My mother, Joan Stephenson, and I were so grateful for his gentle nature and sound medical care (not to mention those great lollipops). He was a special man, and a hugely helpul, reassuring part of my childhood. The Stephenson Family's thoughts are with Dr. Duffy's loved ones.

How saddened we were to read of Dr. Duffy's death. He was beloved by our four children who were lucky to have him as their pediatrician. His patience with the children (and their Mom) was phenomenal. I still remember him strolling into the exam room singing as he scanned the charts (most often an Irish tune).
Our condolences to the Duffy family.

Dr. Duffy was our family pediatrician as we grew up in Glenview and Palatine, Illinois. He was very special to all of us, most especially to my parents, and I send my sincere condolences out to the entire Duffy family.

My grandfather was truly the World's Greatest Grandfather. It would be impossible to describe how kind, gentle, and funny he was. He had an amazing life full of love and happiness. I'm blessed to have shared in it. He is an inspiration to our entire family because of his strength, his intelligence, his humor, and his capacity for love. My grandfather let his happiness show and spread it to others every day of his life. And, as our family knows, if anyone is going to meet up in Heaven it will be our Grandma and Grandpa. Love to all the Duffy's, Amy

Like the Duffy family, we lived in Northbrook in the 70's.
My four children were Dr. Duffy's pediatric patients.
They loved this kind man's patience, gentleness and humor.
Even more, he was a consummate professional, excelling in his chosen medical field.
Our profound condolences are extended to Dr. Duffy's family at this very sad time in their lives.

Dr. Duffy was my son Robert's pediatrician in 1976 Evanston. Rob was my first baby and I didn't have a clue. Dr. Duffy was endlessly supportive, teaching me how to be a parent. He never had an unkind word for anyone and was the most gentle, sweet, kind person I ever met. I'm sure he is in heaven now, surrounded by cherubs.
