Dowling, Thomas J. 66, at rest September 26, 2006, loving husband of Margaret M. (nee Sorich), devoted father of Thomas E. (Lisa), Stephen J. (Gretchen) and Patricia (Edward) Suchodolski, proud grandfather of Barret, Molly, Regan and Reed, loving son of the late John and Madge (nee Black), dear brother of Edward (Joan), Rev. John O.S.A., James (Margie), Mary Ann (Joseph) Tribbia and Francis "Mick" (Annette), friend and brother-in-law of Sam, Steve and Kathy Sorich, many nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, 4 to 8 p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Lying-in-state Saturday, 10 a.m. until the time of Mass 11 a.m., at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 8300 S. Kostner Ave., Chicago. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sisters of the Living Word, 800 Fernandez, Arlington Heights, IL, 60004 or to the Kevin Dowling Scholarship Fund, 10524 S. Kenneth, Oak Lawn, IL, 60453, appreciated. As an Associate of the Sisters of the Living Word, I shall miss not seeeing Tom at the many gatherings that he so religiously attended. Due to illness, I was unable to attend either the wake or funeral, but I know that God is holding him gently in the palm of his hands.

Two years ago I met Tom for the first time, as a client of our company. Shortly thereafter, I regarded Tom as both a client and a good friend. Our prayers are with Tom and all members of the Dowling family. Tom will truly be missed.

Noah & I have deeply admired Tom as long as we have known him. The way he handled his illness made us admire & love him even more. Noah considered him the best friend he ever had. He will be sorely missed by family & friends. Our love and prayers go to Marge, Tom, Steve & Trish as well as other family members.
