Thomas Badal Obituary

It´s coming up on six years now you´ve been gone and I was thinking about how we met as Blackhawk season ticket holders, it was my first year having season tickets in 1989, and my seat was right next to yours. We had some fun at the old Stadium and then when the UC was built, somehow, incredibly, I got the job as video tech working the games.
I would visit you most games in your seats, or at least always wave every game. I´m so glad we stayed in touch and I was still able to see you during the Cup years, even as sick as you were. I feel immense pride that I was able to get Edzo to mention your passing on the air and John Wiedeman to spend even more time on the radio broadcast explaining what a real fan you were! You represented all of those true fans through the years whose passing never get mentioned on the broadcasts. I miss you Tom.

Here is to one of my best friends in life!! A friend who allows you to do wrong in his book but still loves you, a friend who you could talk to and a friend who even through the years still asks how are you doing even though many years have pasted. Many years have passed but I want to state that Tom was one of the best friends a person could ever have and saw realism. Diane and Joe, I have with a deep heart your sorrow during this time. Tom is remembered in my heart as a great friend.

I'm still having trouble coming to grips with the fact that I'm writing these condolences about my hockey partner of over 30 years. It doesn't seem possible that he's gone in the human form.
Prior to 2010 Tom and I longed for a Blackhawks Stanley Cup. All those games leading up to that I'd be cussing out the officials for some call I wasn't happy with and there was Tom the voice of reason, trying to calm me down and explaining to me probably why they made that call and letting me know the officials weren't always wrong like I wanted to believe. I'm truly going to miss that. He'd always call me to update me on any new news about the Hawks and I'll always treasure those times.
Tom was truly a good friend. I've never heard one bad word about him in all these years. How does one person pull that off? He would call me to let me know how he was doing with his illness, because I wanted to hear it directly from him. Now the time has come to say goodbye to him in the human form, but his heart and spirit will be amongst his family and friends for a lifetime.

This year Tommy chose me to help him through some difficult times. He stayed at our house on and off all year. We had some good laughs watching 5 sport events at one time and he even got me to watch a spookie movie, but he fell asleep. He fought courageously but it was time for him to go. We'll miss you lots especially your Cecelia. She loved it when you would sign her name. Love ya.

RIP Tommy! You were the very reason I loved my job so much when I worked in your department. I will always miss you and think of you. You were a very special person to me.

Dear Diane,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Tommy. I have known you guys for so long and never expected this. I know he was sick but it is still a shock. Take care of yourself.

Diane, your brother was one of the great ones. I know God has a special seat for him.
Yesterday, When you mother and father met Tom at the Pearly Gates I just know he was transform back into a healthy 30 year old with great knees
