Thelma Smith Obituary
Retired President and CEO of Illinois Service Federal Savings and Loan Association of Chicago, after 50 years of service. Beloved aunt of Monica D. Thomas. Served on the boards of North Carolina Life Insurance Co. and the United Way/Crusade of Mercy. Devoted member of the Chicago Chapter of the Links Inc., The Moles, and many bridge clubs. She was a lifelong member of the Congregational Church of Park Manor, United Church of Christ, serving as Treasurer and choir member. She will lie-in-state at Unity Funeral Parlors, Inc., 4114 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL, 60653, (773) 624-2703, Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Visitation will be in Park Manor Church, 7000 S. King Dr., Chicago, IL, 60637, Friday, Sept, 12, 2025 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am with the Funeral beginning at 11:00 am. Burial in Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago.
