Terrence McNamara Obituary

Thinking of Big Mac brings a huge smile to my face. Many fond memories while living together in Macomb. Didn't run into him much in the past years but it was like we never missed a beat when we did see each other.

I don’t know what the age is, but there becomes a time when older people look in the obituaries expecting to read about their friends and acquaintances from the past that beat them to the ultimate finish line. Seeing his saddens me and all who knew him from WIU and beyond. He was a great guy who will be missed but not forgotten.

I was saddened to read of Terry's passing (right now, Hippo is up there chuckling at my use of Mac's given name). Who would have known that Mac's sense of humor and even bigger personality hid a rather shy side. In combination, those things captured my heart for a time. The world will be a much sadder place without Mac, but darn it, Hippo is planning one hell of a party!

Hi Mary - Sending my sympathy to one of my former neighbors in good old (and gone) St.Brendan's parish - my Mary and I moved from Chicago in 2000, I was in such a sad state then that I never thought of sending change of address cards - Mary is back in Chicago but pretty much out of touch with reality - Mary is the only survivor of the family but physically set to reach the centennial mark - God bless - Dan

My deepest sympathy. I attended WIU with "Big Mac". Having not seen him in about 25 years I ran into him at a golf outing a few years back. It was like I had seen him the previous day not 25 years later. A nice guy with a big heart.
