My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire family. I knew Sylvia when I lived in Calumet City on the next block from her. I was just 10 years old when I met her and she was just the greatest woman one could have known. She was such a mentor when I was growing up. Her accent was amazing and I will never forget how she would try so hard to teach me her language. Just know she will always be in our hearts and the Lord will take care of her as well as all of her family.

Our deepest sympathies for your loss... Sylvia was a very nice neighbor, but above all our friend.

She would walk her dogs around the block quite a bit and would always stop by to say hello and would always invite the kids over to hang around and play.

She was a very forgiving person and very sweet. We would swap stories back and forth about living in Illinois and coming to Indiana.

We will really miss seeing her around the neighborhood walking her babies (dogs)in the mornings and are just in shock over this entire event.
