Who was my mom?

Someone who took care of me when I was young.

Kissed all my booboo?s, tucked me in at night, taught me the ABC?s and how to write my name.

Taught me right from wrong and how to be strong by being tough on me.

Gave me old-fashioned values by her example.

When asked she gave me guidance when I was raising my children.

And helped me get through my darkest times by her support.

No one really knew her but I did.

I took the time to talk to her and be with her.

She was a good lady with a good heart who would help you if she felt you really needed.

She would give anything you asked within reason.

In her way she was strong and stubborn.

She always worried about how the family was doing.

A tiny woman who was afraid of getting hurt, thunder and lightning and passing.

A woman who was angry because she was getting old and couldn?t do what she wanted.

She drove to the store until the Alzheimer?s forgetfulness ended the last thing she could do.

She walked and cleaned even with severe Arthritis in her back until she could not do it anymore.

She would cook even though her hands would shake until that was taken from her.

And she missed seeing family.

How will I remember my mom?

I will remember my mom as a tiny woman who was stubborn and strong willed.

I will remember her as being kind and good.

Opinionated was my mom and you would always know what is on her mind.

Loyal to family and when someone hurt family she would lash out like a she cat protecting her cubs.

She never was a woman to be fussed over but I knew she enjoyed it.

Lastly she was my mom.

What I will not remember about my mom?

The Alzheimer?s taking her memory away.

The shaking hands from Parkinson?s.

How she slow walked because of the Arthritis.

How frail she became.

God took her away.

Her trials were over and He wanted her to come home.

He knew that to stay here in this world would only be more pain and suffering.

God did not want that for her.

He wanted her to be with her family on the other side and to be young and healthy again.

Peace, happiness and love are what she brought with her to the other side.

For that I am happy for her.

I felt her spirit walk by me when she passed and that was a wonderful and joyous experience.

My mom gave me much but that was the best gift that anyone could have ever given me.

Thank you, Mom.
