I visited with Stan last October at the Condell Hospital because my mother was also in the hospital at that time. His mood was bright and cheerful. We will miss seeing him ride his "golf cart" around the Grass Lake subdivision. My children and myself would like to pay our respects to Juanita and the girls. Stan will remain in our prayers.

I am a retired CPD Detective who had the pleasure of training under a fine and dedicated man that Stanley was. I resected him a thought he was the best of the best physical trainers. I still to this day remember him and all he had taught me as well his his son in law Joe Yasik. My prayers are with him always and I attribute him all my respect showing me how to stay alive while working on the streets of Chicago.

Chief Sarbarneck was an Instructor of mine at the Chicago Police Academy 33 years ago. I respected him then. Later when I was an Assistant State's Attorney in Cook County and he was the Chief in Bridgeview my respect grew even more. I shall remember him as a man if integrity and loyalty.

My deepest sympathy, and codolences to Juanita,Joseph,Wendy and Janice,on the loss of their dear father and grandfather, Stanley Sarbarneck. I have known Stanley since 1955,when I joined the Chicago Police Department. Stanley was in charge of Physical Training at the Police Academy. He had been a friend of my late father and became my good friend and mentor over the years. I recall the outstanding job he did as President of the former Chicago Police Benevolent Association, which assisted the widows and orphans of fallen Police Officers. When he became Chief of Police in Bridgeview, we were both affiliated with the South Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police.

Although many feared him because of his no nonsense demeanor and proficiency in the Marshall arts, while at the Police Academy, I knew him as a warm, friend who extended himself to help others. Stanley was a truly dedicated Police Officer, who believed strongly in the principles of Justice,Freedom and Democracy. He used his strength and talents to serve and protect his fellows citizens, especially the youth, and elderly. Stanley was a truly dedicated public servant, with a strong personal commitment to God and Country. He shall be greatly missed by those of us that had the privelidge of knowing him as a dear friend.
