It's been a year and it feels like yesterday. Miss you !

January 6, 2011

Stanley,Stanley,Stanley ! A whole year has passed and We still miss You as much Today,as We ever have. Not a day goes by without a thought or a word about what Stanley would say about this or that,or its 6pm and why hasn't Stanley called me yet today. Truly miss our fantastic mutual rapport for 35 plus years, and to have it come to
such an abrupt end, makes it so much harder to accept as "Final",I don't buy into it,and I know deep down in my Heart,You will find away to communicate to me,and I promise I will be ready to respond at a moments notice.
We sincerely hope that the pressure is now off the entire Polka Clan up there with You,and that pain and suffering has been replaced with hours & hours of joy and laughter playing along side the "Greatest Polka Musicians who have departed and led the way !
Patricia and I (Your Tadz)miss our truly close bond that we developed for our 35 years of friendship, and We will not allow that to be broken.
Stanley my friend,Patricia and Tadziu, miss you every single day,so please take the time to call The Tadz and ream him out like the old days.
Stachu,We miss you and Love You more than any words could truly express!

I just received the newest IPA newspaper and discovered about the passing of a truly great musician. I played a lot of Stas's music on my radio show, in South Bend, Indiana, and still play his music in my car, constatly, even though I have moved to Las Vegas. My deepest sympathy to the Bulanda family. He will be truly missed. But his wit, and music will never be forgotten.

To the Bulanda family.

Stas was the very first recorded Polka music I ever heard. It was because of him, that I love this Great Polish music today. Being originally from the Steven's Point area. I still remember as a kid listening to that 8 track tape that starred Stas and Gennie O, played over and over again.

Stas, you will be missed on Earth and welcomed in Paradise.

You have my sympathy on the passing of Stas. I had the chance to see stas perform for what I would guess whould have been one of his "last" performances. I attended the event in Hammond, Indiana at the Horse Shoe Casino with a bus from Grand Rapids, Michigan and a Grand Rapids, MI polka band (The Diddle Styx) that also performed at that event. I am also a writer for "The Polka Times" news paper. Every time that I ever saw Stas, he always went out of his way to talk to me or at least says Hi Ryan. Stas will be greatly missed, he is now a lifetime member of that "band up in the sky".

The Bulanda Family,
Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you at this time. May you find peace and strength in the comfort of faith, family, and friends.

Thank you for sharing Stas with me over the years...I know we spent alot of time away from our families over the years doing what we really enjoyed "Making people happy."He had a way of telling his Story in Song.He Loved you guys dearly...and I Loved playing his style of music and being by his side on stage..The last couple of months were hard ,I knew how much he was suffering but there was nothing I could do except give encouraging words...I'm glad I was a part of his life for almost 40 years...even the years we were apart with different bands ..we really were never apart..We always got back together...We were Truly "Brothers of the Note"..I already miss him so much...But no more suffering....Now Rest In Peace my Dear Buddy

January 12, 2010

Our memories of Stas go back to the days when Stas played at the Stop Inn in Pulaski and Birchwood, WI. We would attend every event we could when he played in Wisconsin because we liked his style of music.
In honor of Stas we played his music all Saturday afternoon. Every song was unique in style and words, which made his music so special and great. If you felt down, just play his music and your spirits were lifted.
His music will live on and bring much happiness to many.

Stas was a great polka entertainer, "living it up" with the crowd as he played and sang those beloved old country Polish tunes. His band Dyno Chicago really showed many other musicians, dancers and listeners how the polka should be played. His style of music will live forever. God Bless.

Dear Bulanda Family,
Our Deepest sympathy to all of you and our prayers as well. Stas' and his music and golden voice were awesome! We so enjoyed when we could see him live when he came to Northern Wisconsin. Special memories that we'll always have as a family were when he played for our aunt and uncles 50th in Chicago and he'd play special songs for the gang from Wisconsin...it was great! We especially loved his "honky" sound and Polish Traditions held a very special place in our hearts. He will be missed greatly but his music will live forever,oh how that great polka band in heaven will sound now.

It was our pleasure to know and work with Stas' Bulanda. Whether it was a dance, or one of the many tours we did together you always knew it was going to be fun and entertaining. "Mr. Polka" lived life to its fullest and made everyone around him happier. When you think of him and all the many good times you had when he was around, you all you can do is smile. We’re going to miss him.

Dear Bulanda Family,

Our sincerest condolences on your loss of Stash. He was in our opinion one top notch concertina player and Polish vocalist. We absolutely loved his music and had in fact hired him to play for our 40th wedding anniversary in Wausau, WI. nine years ago. He did a terrific job which we captured all on tape. Now the sights and sounds of his music can live on forever in our home. Thanks again, Stash. May you rest in peace.

To the entire Bulanda family, my deepest condolences on the loss of Stas. He will always be remembered and his music and voice will go on forever. There is hardly a week that I do not play a least one of his songs on my radio programs. I am glad that I was there when he was inducted into the Polka Hall of Fame. May God Bless him and all of you.

Dear Diane and Family
My deepest sympathy to you and the entire family. Polka Field has lost a great man. Marlene and I so enjoyed his music and friendship. Marlene will greet him at heaven's gate and be the first to attend his jam session. I am in Arizona and unable to attend the wake and funeral.. But my thoughts will be with you. He always supported me when I was President of the IPA. I will never forget him and his great music

Diane, Erica, Jenny, and Tommy,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Stas has been a part of our lives for many years. He has been a great friend to my father and Foo is really going to miss him and so are we.

Johnny had the honor of playing with him on his last job at the Horse Shoe Casion in November.

If you should need anything at all, please let us know! We love you all!

I am sure Stas is in Heaven playing and singing and asking everyone ~ "Is everyone having a good time?"

There are no words to express the loss of a great musician and friend. Laughter and having fun was always a priority in his life and we so enjoyed that with him whenever he played. No one will ever be able to replace his prominence in the polish field. So glad that he was able to enjoy his induction into the Polka Hall of Fame. He had a very unique voice and so loved his polish music. There are so many trying to develop their voice and style the way that Stas did, but just can't seem to get there! His songs will continue on forever and it will be very hard to listen to them without remembering our loss. I'm sure that the gang in heaven welcomed him with open arms - what a sight that would have been. R.I.P. Stas

Oh Stanley, You will be missed by so many. You've been apart of our lives for so long, some 39 years now. I still can remember first meeting you. Thank you for sharing your talents with so many. Your "is everyone having a good time?" will always be remembered. Like your songs that were a legacy to many. You've been a great friend to John and he misses you already. Twas Jas and Stas for so long. To be able to partake in your induction into the hall of fame just a few months ago will always be remembered.
